Join The Team
We are looking for volunteers to join our team, why not give it a go?
The Oaks Scout Campsite needs a team of volunteers to keep the campsite moving forward. If you can spare 1 or more hours a week and become part of the oaks team. Whether you have a specific skill set, enjoy a challenge or want to learn new skills. Whatever it is we would like to hear from you!
Click on the below roles to find out more about this amazing opportunity and get involved.
Young Volunteers
We allow Young Volunteers/Explorer Scouts to get involved and help around site. This could be to meet the service requirements of the Duke of Edinburgh and Chief Scout award schemes, or just to have some fun and learn some new skills. This could involve assisting to instruct activities, helping as part of the service team and with general site maintenance.
Activity Instructor
If you already have a permit and would like to instruct with us or would you like to learn a new skill and gain a permit? Then why not instruct some of our activities? Most of our activities require either NGB (National Governing Body), Scout or site-specific permits to operate and it takes a whole team of instructors to allow our visitors to have a new challenge all year round.
Instructor lead activities:
- Air Rifle Shooting
- Archery
- Climbing
- Tomahawk Throwing
We allow Young Volunteers to get involved and help around the site. Wether that be assisting to instruct activities, helping on the service team or site maintanance.

Do you have a particular skill set, are you someone that enjoys being outdoors or are you just a DIY enthusiast that fancies something different?. We are always looking for volunteers to help support us with the endless list of “little jobs”, grounds maintenance and ongoing projects that improve the site. We have a regular group of “older scouters” that meet on Mondays, in addition to our weekend volunteers.
